Larson & McGowin Appoints Smith Controller

The forestry firm of Larson & McGowin, Inc. has announced the appointment of Rachael Benitez Smith, CPA, to the position of Controller. She received her Accounting degree from the University of South Alabama.

Smith will lead Larson & McGowin’s accounting team including client bookkeeping. Prior to coming to Larson & McGowin, she worked for a public accounting firm and also as a controller for a large wholesale industrial supplier.

She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Larson & McGowin, Inc. is a full service forest management and consulting firm. The company’s expertise is in the business of owning and managing timberland whether for investment returns or recreational enjoyment. Projects range from 40 acre parcels to 1,000,000 acre transactions. The firm has on-going land management operations in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. Consulting services are primarily offered in the southern United States but experiences include the U.S. Northeast, Pacific Northwest, Canada, Central America and South America. The firm currently manages approximately 350,000 acres of southern timberland.
